Syrian-born, Boshra al Saadi (Saadi), is one hot new artist hailing from New York you’re going to want to keep your eyes on. Aside from being totally foxy, she has this very cool detached yet sultry voice that at times sounds a bit possessed. It may sound kind of creepy but it’ actually really hot. Saadi delivers vibrant electro pop mixed in with some sexy dancehall with a slice of disco. She sounds a bit like M.I.A. minus the nasty bark.

Formerly the co-frontwoman for indie rock band Looker, Saadi traded in her punk riffs for some reggae beats and breaks taking reign as the afro-disco synth queen. Give her spicy mixtape “Summer of Saadi” a listen below and check out here new video for “Bad Seeds.”

Stay tuned for Saadi’s full length coming mid 2011 via Dither Down, a new label based in Brooklyn that is centered around indie pop, disco, dub, 80s electro and house with a focus on releases from up and coming New York artists.
