When I got the press release for this show announcement, I had to read the venue location a few times to make sure I was reading it correctly. Ladies and gentlemen, the wild soul man and smooth crooner, Charles Bradley, is playing an intimate show at the Echo on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. If you don’t know how Charles Bradley is and you’re a fan of soul, r&b, blues and a riveting live performance, you need check this fella’ out! We just caught Bradley at Spinner’s SXSW party and were literally blown away. His weathered vocals, crooned with delight as he busted out a few soulful howls and yells. It was electric! Not to mention, at 62, Bradley can shake down any young rocker on the dance floor. The man was movin’ and groovin,’ owning the stage and crowd before him. He even did the rock ‘n roll splits!

Charles Bradley and the Menahan Street Band will be performing at the Echo on May 4 in celebration of his Bradley’s debut alum, No Time For Dreaming.
