Coldplay are coming to Los Angeles for a GRAMMY Foundation benefit on Wednesday Aug. 3, 2011. The band has their fifth full-length underway and have just released their new EP Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall, so expect to hear some new tunes at this special one-off concert. The net proceeds from the show, will benefit the GRAMMY Foundation’s GRAMMY in the Schools music education initiative for high school students. Selected highlights from the concert will then air at midnight that night on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! show.

Tickets for the all ages fundraiser are priced from $45 to $150. There is a special presale for Coldplay fans, via ticketmaster.com, which begins at 10am tomorrow (Wed July 13) – using the password TEARDROP.

There will also be a Goldenvoice presale on Thursday, July 14 at 10am.
