Hot New Band Alert- Beach Day

Just in time for summer, Florida based trio, Beach Day are set to release their debut album, Trip Trap Attack on June 18 via Kanine Records. For those that dig the nostalgic sounds of yesteryear, Beach Day have that 60s girl-group sound splashed with some edgy surf-garage vibes.

Made up of Kimmy, Natalie and Skyler (that’s a male), the three met at a local show and quickly bonded over their love of 60’s girl groups. It wasn’t too long until the three moved in together to write and create their fun and breezy garage pop sounds while moonlighting as masters of the art of making smoothies at a local Smoothie Shack. You would think with all that time spent together they would drive each other crazy. Instead, the trio has driven each other creatively and has produced some very catchy songs that gleam with youthful, cherried vocals and plenty of that old school tambourine.

Fans of Dum Dum GirlsThe EttesVivian Girls—and classic gems such as the Shangri-lasThe Ronettes, and The Honeys will LOVE Beach day. Listen to some of our favorite tracks below.

  • “Walking In The Streets” is heavy in that 60s girl-group sound with lyrics about a boy that “had to go away” and classic instrumentals that might just catch the attention of Brian Wilson.
  • “Beach Day” is a fun surf-garage pop ditty that would have been a perfect complement to the soundtrack of 1965’s beach party flick, Beach Blanket Bingo.
  • “Little Red Shoes” is a lot more edgy with some sweet power chords and a rad garage rock sound. This song has potential to be very wild live.

Beach Day have a Los Angeles show date at the Bootleg Theater on April 23. Supporting Beach Day are Chains of Love. Buy your tickets here!
