This past Wednesday, June 26 — legendary Robert Plant presented the Sensational Space Shifters, a new group that  takes blues rock and world music to a whole new level. The all star group backing the Led Zeppelin singer is composed of guitarist Justin Adams (Tinariwen, Sinead O’Connor), keyboardist John Baggott (Massive Attack, Portishead), bassist Billy Fuller (Beak>, Massive Attack), guitarist Liam “Skin” Tyson (Cast, Men from Mars), violinist Juldeh Camara, and drummer Dave Smith.

Robert Plant and the Sensation Space Shifters put on a very psychedelic and cultured performance full of African rhythms on top of Zeppelin’s stunning riffs and melodies. It was unique a blend of music that we enjoyed, but damn, we really wanted Plant to go off on “Whole Lotta Love” full-blown Zeppelin style. Regardless, it was a spectacular show, and Mr. Plant still has it going on! The crowd was very pleased to hear a handful of classic Zeppelin songs including Rock and Roll,” “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You,” and more. The original tracks by the Sensational Space Shifters were also a jammin’ trippy treat.
