The ground-breaking and genre-bending duo, Cibo Matto are back with a new album and a slew of tour dates to celebrate the new record. We last caught Cibo Matto in 2011 at the Hollywood Bowl, as part of a small run of reunion dates. Now the Japanese dudo (Miho Hatori and Yuka C. Honda) will headline the El Rey Theatre on Monday, Feb. 24, as well as the Constellation Room in Santa Ana on Sunday, Feb. 23.
It’s been 15 years since Cibo Matto cut a new record. On Feb. 14 2013, Cibo Matto will release their new LP, Hotel Valentine via Chimera Music. According to the press release, their new album is a concept album that has bonded the duo together, making them more aware of their magical chemistry. Expect to hear songs about ghosts and other weird stuff. Cibo Matto have shared a spicy new song from Hotel Valentine titled “MFN”, which features Reggie Watts.
