Mmmm-mmph! The New Orleans trumpet and trombone player, Trombone Shorty creates a catchy approach that has been making listeners uncontrollably dance. Being surrounded with jazz music as a young boy, Troy Andrews, also known as Trombone Shorty, began performing with his own band in 2009. Since then, trumpet solos like on his track “Fire and Brimstone” have been recreating modern jazz music with an R&B twist. We last caught him at this past summer’s Twilight Concert Series in Santa Monica. Now, he will be performing his sweet tunes at the Fonda Theatre on Friday, January 24. Joining him will be his band, Orleans Avenue, Hot 8 Brass Band, and a special appearance by The Wild Magnolias.
