Highland Park’s latest underground music venue, the Church on York is quickly becoming a prominent place to watch and discover underground acts as well as popular indie bands. Just a couple weeks ago Vivian Girls booked their farewell performance at the new venue. The show was packed from wall-to-wall and beyond sold-out (check out photos here). This coming May, the Church on York will host a most unique Danish music festival, 13 Torches For a Burn featuring punk bands such as Iceage, psychosexual black metal bands like Sexdrome, and dark industrial synth noise artists being Lust For Youth. It’s going to be an L.A. goth’s wet dream and we highly recommend you attend this very special and unique festival. Single day tickets are priced at $16 and a two-day pass is $20. With just a $4 difference it would probably be most wise to grab that two-day pass and get the most bang for your buck. The shows are all-ages!
