Summer is just around the corner, and with the long sunny days and warm weather also comes numerous summer concerts series across Los Angeles. The Skirball Cultural Center has announced their 2014 line-up for its 18th annual free Sunset Concerts. A Grimy Goods favorite amongst the many summer concert series offered, Skirball offers all six of its Sunset Concerts for free in their gorgeous central courtyard, where music fans of all ages can move and groove to the eclectic mix of of music.

This year, Skirball delivers a heavy globetrotting tour from the Americas to Africa with a most dynamic concert season. The schedule is as follows:

July 24 — The California debut of Noura Mint Seymali
July 31 — The California debut of Conjunto Chappotín y Sus Estrellas
August 7 — The Haden Triplets
August 14 — Flaco Jiménez and Max Baca & Los Texmaniacs
August 21 — Yiddish Tango Club
August 28 — Jeffery Broussard & The Creole Cowboys

From the The Haden Triplets unique take on American folk, to Tejano star Flaco Jiménez, and more — this year’s Sunset Concerts at Skirball is going to be a brilliant display of music from across the world. All concerts begin at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m. Guests are welcome to bring their own food to the shows (no outside alcoholic beverages or chairs are permitted).

Additionally, all Skirball exhibitions (except Noah’s Ark) are free and open until 10:00 p.m. during Sunset Concerts, including The Snowy Day and the Art of Ezra Jack Keats and Visions and Values: Jewish Life from Antiquity to America.
