DEATH

After years of archiving their music away in their basement, the ’70s Detroit band DEATH are back with their third album, DEATH III, a compilation of unheard songs from 1975 to 1992. Coined for having been the first punk rock band, the band was “discovered” in the late 2000s when the sons of Bobby Hackney (bass, vocals) began performing covers of DEATH’s songs. Since then, the band received an immense amount of attention, including a documentary about their success (A Band Called Death). On Thursday, July 2nd DEATH will be headlining show at the Roxy on Thursday, July 3 with supporting act The Underground Railroad to Candyland.
