A couple months ago we ventured to the hot new Downtown L.A (Arts District) restaurant, Fifty Seven. Not only does this hip eatery have a superb menu (one of the plates we devoured), but they also have some impressive indie selections playing throughout their restaurant. From the Flaming Lips to Metric, we enjoyed a delicious dinner to the tune of some of our favorite bands. And to top it all off, Fifty Seven has a rad underground (literally “underground”) secret venue below their restaurant. Naturally, in true Grimy Goods fashion, we caught some live music after our meal.
Continuing to fuse indie music with culinary treats, Fifty Seven is now giving you the opportunity to experience a casual dinner party with Best Coast. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15 and guests will enjoy cocktails on the open air, private alley patio, followed by dinner with various Chef stations scattered around the space. After the dinner, Best Coast will head downstairs to perform a DJ set in the restaurant’s secret showcase room “Downstairs @ Fifty Seven.”
Best Coast is working with the mixologists at Fifty Seven to create a couple of signature cocktails, something light and refreshing from Bethany Cosentino and something spicy with Mezcal from Bobb Bruno. As for the eats, Best Coast has collaborated with Fifty Seven’s current Chef-in-Residence Josh Drew to create a menu inspired by foods Best Coast has enjoyed on the road while touring, in the studio and of course, some Italian!
