Gossip Girl’s, Leighton Meester performed an acoustic set at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, California this past Tuesday night. It was a dark and intimate scene with a room that looked like it was out of an old-time movie. The red curtains were drawn and Meester’s quintet came out and played a beautiful set. There were no drums, just a man on beatbox and another man with an upright bass that really added to the existing ambiance of the venue. The tables at the front of the house were full and all standing room had been filled and it was time for the show to start.
It was a somber night of music. Meester played songs such as “Heartstrings” and “LA”, which set the tone for the evening. Her lovely vocals were tender, yet passionate, and fans applauded loudly and graciously after each song. Meester played about an hour set to a sold out venue. She has one more show coming up at the Hotel Cafe on January 27th. Grab your tickets before it sells out.
