elle belle

From psych rock to 80s flavored synth pop, LA’s Elle Belle seems to have found his tune. In 2014, Elle Belle, the solo project of Christopher Pappas (formerly of Miracle Parade) was pushing out sounds that were more akin to 13th Floor Elevators meets Brian Jonestown Massacre. Now with the release of his tasty new single “Failed Dreamz,” Elle Belle has morphed into a more upbeat and anthemic direction that will have you dancing. Elle Belle’s “Failed Dreamz” sounds like a synth soaked marriage between David Bowie and The War On Drugs. It’s vibrant, it’s fun and honestly, it’s catchy as f*ck.

While multi-instrumentalist Elle Belle is delivering more polished synth vibes as opposed to DIY manic tones, there are still some psych rock elements in his new music, which makes this new change all the more unique.

“Failed Dreamz” is just one song from Elle Belle’s forthcoming 23-song collection of music titled Baptistina I & II. To celebrate the new tunes, Elle Belle has a free weekly residency taking place at The Satellite in Silver Lake ever Monday this November.

“There’s no roadmap, no scheme – it will be visceral, in the moment, and truly unique,” says Pappas on the live experience he has planned for the residency. “The sounds, sights, and energy will be electric; blending craft with chaos, harmony with discord and hopefully bloody a few noses. Bring a towel.”

“Failed Dreamz” will be released as a digital 7-inch, and on limited edition vinyl via NHAC Records / Sony Music UK in early 2016.
