Alice Bag a staple in the Los Angeles punk scene celebrated her debut solo album record release show this past weekend at The Echo. Recognized as a punk music legend, author, educator, feminist and all around positive inspiration, fans from all over came to experience her new tunes and live performance. It wasn’t just a concert, but a motivating performance with an inspiring message.
Kicking things off were Fatty Cakes and the Puff Pastries. The band put on a very electric performance playing songs from their recent albums, Feminist Gold 2k and Babe Buffet. This was also the fist time they performed “Feminist Gold 2k” live. While their loyal fans enjoyed the new tunes, fans truly went crazy for “Witch.”
Up next before Alice Bag were Generacion Suicida. Even though a lot of the crowd couldn’t understand their lyrics (sang in Spanish), it didn’t really matter; the band put on one helluva show. Vibe-ing off their punk energy, fans instantly started a mini pit at The Echo.
After about a 35-minute wait, Alice Bag hit the stage. Wearing a bright pink dress, the packed floor clapped and yelled in excitement for Alice Bag. The Los Angeles icon did not disappoint. With a friendly, yet powerful stage presence, Bag inspired fans with her punk feminist tunes. Bag’s stage was a vibrant mix of vocals and sounds. She had an energetic band that seemed to rotate out members, including her step-daughter as a backup singer.
