On July 6th, sparking things up right after the 4th of July holiday, Logic and G-Eazy rolled through Los Angeles as part of their co-headlining “The Endless Summer Tour.” Both Logic and G-Eazy have been widely known for putting on a hell of show so witnessing their first co-headlining tour together seemed like a no brainer.
The night kicked off with Memphis rapper Yo Gotti. Gotti busted out dressed in all white from head to toes. Performing popular songs from tapes such as The Art of Hustle and CM7: The World is Yours, and of course his most popular song “Down in the DM.”
With YG coming on stage next, the crew had to prepare bringing out five huge red letters spelling out “BRAZY.” YG, growing up in Compton, fell into the gang lifestyle now repping his blood set any and every time he can. YG started off his set with the very popular “BPT” from his first album My Krazy Life. Having just released his second album Still Brazy it was no surprise that he stuck to performing songs of that album. Wanting to rep his set as often as possible, again, we weren’t surprised that he stopped in the middle of his performance to show off his “blood dance” with his DJ repeating “do your dance YG, do your dance.” YG busted out his dance moves.
After patiently waiting, the moment that i’ve been waiting for was finally arriving. I am a big Logic fan and have been to every single concert he has had in Los Angeles. I’ve seen him go from his first show at The Roxy selling out with only 500 people to now selling out stadiums with 15,000+ people. Nothing beats the sense of joy of seeing an artist on his come up from the beginning. Logic started off his set strong with fan favorite “Fade Away” off his most recent album The Incredible True Story. What I really looked forward to was seeing him perform his new songs off his most recent tape Bobby Tarantino. As a surprise to his fans, Logic decided to randomly drop an eleven-track mixtape for summer just a few days ago. With Logic full of energy running back-and-forth from the left side to the right side of the stage, he had the crowd going crazy. Fans singing along, knowing every single word even with complex verses such as in “Gang Related” where he spits with incredible speed. Logic went back and fourth evenly performing songs from all three of his most recent tapes. Towards the end of the show, Logic brought out an MPC and literally built a beat from scratch in-front of the whole crowd to spit a verse over it. Logic ended his set a little different than usual, having a “dance party” with the whole crowd.
I had never seen G-Eazy perform, but I had heard really good things about him performing live from various friends. In the middle of the stage a big black door began to open upward with a lot of smoke and bright white lights shining through the opening. G-Eazy slowly emerges through the smoke, walks up to the front of the stage and just takes it all in slowly looking at every corner of the stadium as the crowd screamed. G started off his set playing “Random” off his 2015 album When It’s Dark Out. During his set he was completely spirited never taking a minute to rest. Towards the end he brought back out YG to perform the famous “FDT” song having the every single person chanting “Fuck Donald Trump!” along with them. When the crowd thought the show was over, G surprised everyone and unknowingly brought out Bebe Rexha to perform their collaboration track “Me, Myself, & I.”
Overall it was a great night and although one might never think that these four artists would work well together, they completed each other very well and all put on a hell of a show.
