Ezza Rose

Ezza Rose Melts Hearts at Silverlake Lounge

Kicking off her West Coast Summer tour, Portland native Ezza Rose made her Los Angeles tour stop this past Wednesday at the Silverlake Lounge. Recently featured as one of our Top 20 Underground Acts To Catch In July, we had to catch his gorgeous voice live.

Playing a brief, but magical seven-song set in the cozy setting of the Silverlake Lounge, Rose transported us to a blissful state of catharsis. Playing songs from her most recent album, When The Water’s Hot, as well as revealing some unreleased tracks, fans were enchanted by Rose’s lovely croons. Songs like “Tie Me Up” seduced our senses, while the ethereal atmosphere of “Under Your Teeth” beckoned our attention like a distant siren’s call.

Rounding out Rose’s eclectic blend of soul, shoegaze, and folk were the soothing instrumentals from guitarist Craig Rupert, new bassist Phil Rogers, and sparing drums from Ray Johnson. Together with Rose, the group delivered an every so lovely sound rich in lulling melodies and lush harmonies.
