Four piece synth-pop group, Austra delivered a vibrant performance last week at the El Rey Theatre, Los Angeles. Led by the enchanting vocalist, Katie Stelmanis, the fierce frontwoman showcased her political art through her new album Future Politics and transported us to what felt like an underground nightclub. Stelmanis’ vocals were powerful, dynamic and were the perfect compliment to the captivating sounds produced by her band. Austra showcased compelling new tracks from Future Politics. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a ton of energy from the crowd. It was more of a chill and swaying back-and-forth type of audience. Older tracks like “Home” and “Lose it” were the crowd favorites that turned up the energy in the low-spirited room.

Future Politics was released January 20 via Domino Records. The 11-track record features moving songs with Austra’s signature bewitching croon. Grab the album here
