Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers

Just in time for Spring Equinox, Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers have shared a delicious new song titled “Old Love.” The track’s a bright and breezy playful ditty that you can’t help but be in a great mood after spending a hot four minutes with its feel-good vibes.

“It’s a song that really translated really well to the full band; such a fun song to play live,” shares Joe Hertler. “But overall, I had this imagery and the story in my head and it’s really cool to look back and see how the lyrics and sounds came together to represent it.”

With “Old Love” the Michigan-based Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers jazz up their signature psychedelic-soul pop with a song that begs for blue skies and sunshine. Despite the song having a sullen story behind it, the sounds emanating from “Old Love” will perk up your darkest days. Give it a spin below.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”#FF78FF” class=”fistclass” size=”15″]”[“Old Love”] is a story about two samurai (of opposing factions) who meet on the battlefield and fall in love,” shares Hertler. “As they face separation caused by their warring factions, the two samurai make a pledge to return to each other once the war is over and the chrysanthemum’s bloom. However, once this actually happens, neither are able to uphold their vows and commit Hari-Kari (Ritual Disembowlement). The suicides take place during the bridge, where it also depicts an ascent to heaven, where their love becomes reunited. It’s based on a Japanese folktale called “the Chrysanthemum Vow,” but I suppose I added a gay twist. [/perfectpullquote]

“Old Love” is the second single from Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers’ forthcoming album Pluto. The 10-track record arrives March 31st. Additionally, check out “Lonely” below! It’s the band’s video and first single from their forthcoming Pluto album.
