UK threesomes are always quite a special treat (and no I’m not talking about the naughty kind between the sheets). Eclectic blues-folk trio, Peggy Sue graced LA with their very cool tunes last Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Spaceland. With serene vocals beautifully accented by a variety of instruments from numerous guitars, percussion, accordion and more, Peggy Sue have created something very aurally enticing and their live performance is just as attractive.

Composed of three musically innovative individuals, Katy and Rosa play off of each others vocals so smoothly, they melt together like buttah bringing forth something deliciously intoxicating, while Olly handle the drums adding an eerie feel with his paced banter. A perfect example of how awesome the fusion of all their contributions are, is heard in “Watchman.” The song is probably my favorite off their debut long-player “Fossils and Other Phantoms” released June 1, 2010 via Yep Roc.

If you’re into Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys, Lissie and even LA’s very own up-and-comers The Damn Sons, you’ll love Peggy Sue. Check out the photos of Peggy Sue at Spaceland below and download an MP3 of “Watchman” for FREE here.
