Presenting a new cultural music event series, Spaceland and KCRW kicked off the first ever “Church Sessions” last night at the at the First Unitarian Church in Los Angeles. Headlining the evening was 2011 breakout artist, Diego Garcia, along with RYAT, Miguel Atwood and Aaron Embry. Spaceland has partnered with Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts of MacArthur Park to produce a handful of concerts at the church and KCRW is the media sponsor.

Aside from the magnificent display of music that graced the dancing ears of the audience, the entire ambiance at the church was especially memorable with its Italian precedents and intimate 700-person seating in classic church pews. The church was designed in 1926 and is a musical sanctuary that boasts splendid acoustics, complete with stained glass windows and outdoor courtyards. If you missed Diego’s magnificent performance at the church yesterday, be sure to mark your calendars for the next “Church Session.”
