There was a tasty party going off at the Echoplex this past Friday and the three very different flavors of the evening involved Los Angeles producer,  Com Truise with Poolside and Bonde Do Rolê. In this special hat-trick, show-goers were gifted with a delicious three-course aural meal kicking of with Bonde Do Rolê’s intense Brazilian dance tracks, through Poolside’s electronic retro jams that lead up to the main dish; Com Truise’s synth-heavy aural sounds of pleasure. Naturally, the show sold-out.

Brazil’s Bonde Do Role kicked off the evening with some raucous beats that included traditional baile funk, hip hop, metal and more. This threesome were a wild bunch and surely entertaining. Commencing the show madness with a game of limbo on the show floor and bringing out assorted props such as a Sponge Bob pinata and inflatable devil-ish wind statue, Bonde Do Role kept our jaws dropped and our feet stompin’. We never knew what these crazy kids were going to do next.

Bringing forth some daytime disco, groovy enough to make the Bee Gees jealous, L.A.’s Poolside had us swaying along to their tropical disco beats. These guys are always a pleasure live and their music is so infectious you can’t help but smile and feel all warm and fuzzy. Their cover of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” is excellent live and was a definite crowd pleaser. These Poolside boys are as smooth as hot butter and a sure mood enhancer for any romantic encounter.

Onto the main course, Com Truise transported fans into a “galactic melt” with his spaced-out beats and pulsating visuals. The man is a master at creating sounds that whip your brain and body into a almost catatonic state of electronic pleasure. It was like tripping on acid sans dropping any liquid on  your tongue. Amidst the fist pumps and dancing bodies, people were hooting and howling in praise of the talented producer. It was evident that Com Truise fans are extremely loyal to the sounds he creates. While the beats were more on the mellow side at the jump of his show, they were throbbing with life towards the end and getting bodies bouncing. It was “tite.”
