After catching indie supergroup,  Divine Fits at both the Hotel Cafe and Echo, we went for round three this past Sunday at the Fonda Theatre. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, Divine Fits are the best new band to come out of 2012. These guys are seasoned musicians and really know how to appeal to the crowd with their live performance, not to mention their debut album  A Thing Called Divine Fitsis absolutely addictive and dripping of sexy electro/indie rock.

All four band members really know how to work it, but guitarist and co-frontman, Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade and Handsome Furs) is a stunning pleasure to see on stage as part of Divine Fits. He has this Iggy Pop prowl to him and really works the stage and crowd. He more than shined in “My Love Is Real” as he fell to his knees with emotion on this alluring track. We couldn’t take our eyes off of him!

Cold Cave opened up the show with a very dark and blue-lit performance. They were loud and radiating all things badass, clad in black and leather with an arsenal of loud sound. Wesley Eisold was like a darkwave dictator on stage as he led his band with powerful stage ownership and mesmerized the crowd. It was like walking into an underground English new wave club. Cold Cave killed as a full band — very sexy too.

To sum it up, this entire evening was musically provocative and full of sheer talent. Both Divine Fits and Cold Cave put on stellar performances that left a pleasurable time stamp in our brains.
