If there were a dictionary term for “up-and-coming-band-that-is-about-to-blow-up,” it would be Wild Belle. The Chicago sibling-duo comprised of Natalie and Elliot Bergman made their charming appearance at the Echo last night. The small Echo Park venue was packed with curious fans, music bloggers and photogs, and some local musicians. Even Michael from Fitz and the Tantrums was up in the scene to witness Wild Belle’s incredible performance.

With heavy Jamaican instrumental influence from rocksteady greats such as The Maytals and early Wailers, Wild Belle fuse those laid back classic reggae vibes with a touch of indie rock, plenty of sexy soul and a dash of electro. What really makes Wild Belle shine are Natalie’s enticing vocals. She’s soulful like the late Amy Winehouse, however, her vocals also carry a pop radiance that makes love to your ears. Her voice is adorable and attractively unique, captivating her fans not only with her vocal charm, but with her smoldering stage presence.  Fashionable and petite, Natalie enchants all before her like a siren luring sailors across a wild sea — she’s that potent.

Natalie’s brother and co-singer, Elliot also oozes with musical allure. A tall man with a sweet and soulful voice, Elliot lends his handsome vocals on a song or two while moonlighting between the saxophone and keyboards. The duo are joined by a guitarist, bassist and drummer for their live show — adding to the already intoxicating flavor of Wild Belle. Closing their memorable set with “Keep You,” Wild Belle left the crowd joyously dancing with a powerful craving for more luscious tunes.

From the Echo to Conan O’Brien, Wild Belle are definitely going places. They are set to release their debut album Isles on March 12, 2013 via Columbia Records. Wild Belle are touring the U.S. through February. If you missed their show last night, we have a feeling they will be back in the City of Angeles to play a bigger venue. Listen to Wild Belle, here.

We also took some photos of the fantastic openers, Deep Sea Diver and Pageants. Scroll down to check them out.
