NOFX “ribbed up the Mayan Theatre this past Thursday! The iconic Los Angeles, punk band, shredded their way through their classic record, Ribbed, in all its fast and glorious entirety. Talk about taking a punk stroll through memory lane when 90s punk was led by the wild antics and comedic lyrics of NOFX. Supporting NOFX were Teenage Bottlerocket and Wrong Beach.
NOFX also went beyond playing Ribbed and performed some new songs as well as greats from Punk N Drublic, such as “Linoleum.” We also noticed that Fat Mike should change his name to Skinny Mike as the frontman has lost some serious pounds. We got a kick out of his on-stage teleprompter to ensure he wouldn’t forget his lyrics as he sipped away on some adult bevies that sat so comfortably in his cup holder that was attached to his mic stand (see the pic below).
From Santa Claus and punk babes, to old punk farts and a goofy ginger who made it to the stage from the crowd in hopes of completing a stage dive (he FAILED, see pic below) — watching the madness ensue throughout the crowd was just as exciting as NOFX’s amazing show.
