The Bronx los globos photos

Celebrating their first record release in five years, Bronx (IV)Los Angeles hardcore punks, the Bronx proved that the raw spirit of Southern California punk rock is alive and well. Opening up for the Bronx, were Death Hymn Number 9 and these gospel punk villains are fucking nuts. Blending their version of hardcore punk with some swampy soul flavor and gospel boogie, Death Hymn are filthy good. With their faces painted as though they had returned from the dead, by the end of their set, most of their decor had sweated off their faces and probably stung a couple of them in the eyes—but that did not hinder the raucous and weird live show they bestowed on the crowd. Death Hymn Number 9 have some serious feral energy that can not be tamed.

As the Bronx took the small Los Globos stage by storm, the men released a furry of vicious sound that instigated endless circle pits where fans sweated to an hour + of moshing, crowd surfing, stage diving, and more punk antics. There was even some burly chick in the most pit bouncing around with nothing but a tube top that was curled over exposing her floppy breasts for a good duration of time. Those weren’t the only boobs we saw all night; another gal decided to flash the crowd her tits from the stage giving the male opening strippers a run for their money. Yes, you read correctly, I said “male opening strippers.”

Although some of the crowd (the ones that looked out-of-place) had a confused and disgusted look on their faces as two male strippers danced around in their banana hammocks about 10 minutes before the Bronx hit the stage, if you’re a true Bronx fan, you already know this fun group of guys are all about a good time and love to throw in a curve ball or two. The ladies in the crowd sure seemed to enjoy the cheesy male strippers as they straddled them and even wrapped their legs around the strippers’ heads as though they were sitting on their shoulders, however, the naughty way around. It was pure entertainment.

The Bronx pleased long time fans with some classic and riveting Bronx hits such as “White Tar,” Knifeman,” “Shitty Future,” and “Six Days a Week,” amongst other punk-fueled numbers. The energy through the crowd was unreal. The Mirrors of Los Globos were steaming as more articles of clothing were flying off throughout the pit. Not one person gave a fuck where their shoe or T-shirt landed, it was all about enjoying the moment and relishing in some L.A. punk nostalgia. Mini-skirted babes were standing on tables and booths as they watched the madness ensue from a safe distance, while feet and fists pumped through the air. The Bronx also impressed fans with their slick new tunes from,  Bronx (IV)It was a non-stop power-hour of exploding drum chops and cymbal crashes, howling riffs, and throaty roars. It was true punk rock at its finest and even five years later, the Bronx still got it going on; hard-style.
