Mikal Cronin headlined a sold out show with Pangea and Gap Dream at The Echo this past Friday. Unfortunately I arrived too late, and could not see Gap Dream, but I’m sure they played a great set since the place was already packed by the time I got there.

Pangea started their set with high energy getting the crowd dancing (and moshing). They played two new songs and “slowed” down their set with a sped up version of “Be My Baby” by The Ronnettes, which everyone loved. Being an all-ages show, we were bound to see people crowd surfing and jumping up on stage.

Mikal Cronin’s set had a few technical difficulties, but they still got a lot of support from the crowd, especially one kid who got up on stage and sang into the mic (who are ya kid?). The whole band had awesome hair-flipping techniques and put on a great set from start-to-finish. If you haven’t listened to Mikal Cronin’s new album, MCII, we highly recommend you check it out here.
