Stones Fest L.A. was one helluva rock ‘n’ roll party this past Thursday at the Fonda Theatre. Serving as both a night to celebrate the music of the living legends themselves, the Rolling Stones, and as a benefit for the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, the show was incredible to say the least, and not quite the shit show as Petty Fest where everyone on stage and off was pretty damn drunk. That  was a fun one! Needless to say, the official sponsor of Stones Fest L.A. was Jameson, and the whiskey was surely running thick and inciting buzzed perma-grins.

Some very memorable highlights from Stones Fest L.A.:

Babe Walker, oh excuse me, I mean Butch Walker … He’s always a highlight at the Best Fests. The man killed it on “Honkey Tonk Woman,” and while taking the lead on the show’s closing song, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” where all the performers took part on stage.

Juliette Lewis, the wild and crazy hot mess actually did a fantastic job on both “Beast of Burden” (better than Katy Perry’s guest spot at the recent Stones’ MGM show) and “Satisfaction.”

Phosphorescent (Matthew Houck) did a great “Dead Flowers” number, but he really impressed with “Sweet Virginia,” the second to last closing song of the show where he was joined by all the performers.

Keith Richards’ “Happy” was performed by Ethan Miller of Howlin’ Rain and boy did his rendition make us totally “Happy.” Outstanding job and so full of physical and emotion energy.

Even 90s heartthrob, Evan Dando was there! The Lemonheads’ frontman did a sweet, sweet job of serenading fans with “Wild Horses” … swoon.

The blonde beauty, Ace Harper totally became Jagger when she performed “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” while her fiancee Matt Sorum (Guns ‘n’ Roses) slayed the drums. Loved her white pant suit!

L.A.’s Har Mar Superstar, the man we see everywhere throughout the East Side music scene, was just a fucking hoot! Gotta love that guy. Headstand and all, “Under My Thumb” became a hilarious sexy number.

Now, the performer that really stole the show, not once, but multiple times was Ruby Amanfu. This beautiful woman has such an incredible voice and she definitely brought the soul to Stones Fest L.A. Her set with Greg Dulli (Afghan Whigs) for “Gimmie Shelter” was stunning, it delivered goosebumps. She even saved a song from an epic mic failure (during “Tumblin’ Dice,” chick singing with Dakota Johnson — her mic was shit).

All-in-all, Stones Fest L.A. was an epic night of music with top-notch performers playing some of the best Rolling Stones songs. Everyone did a spectacular job. Check out our photos below of all the performances at Stones Fest L.A.
