Georgia’s Futurebirds made their way to Echo Park last night for a knock-out performance at the Echo! These bearded, long haired men put on some high energy shows boasting all things alt Americana and psychedelic country. Their music incorporates reverb-soaked four-part harmonies supported by pedal steel guitar, rhythmic percussion, banjo, mandolin, and acoustic and electric guitars with heavy feedback — masterful goods. Also on last night’s bill were Diarrhea Planet. Holy shit, did these guys go wild. Their pit was thrashing, but our fearful photog managed to get some great shots of the bands despite almost getting trampled.
