Froth celebrate their Lolipop Records album release with an impressive psychedlic performance

With so many bands these days embracing the sounds of yesteryear’s lo fi rock genres (60s/surf/garage/shoegaze), it’s easy for bands to get lost in the shuffle. They all kind of start sounding the same without any unique signature to their revival sound. Fortunately this was not the case at The Echo this past Tuesday night. Los Angeles’ own, Froth, celebrated their Lolipop Records album release with a memorable headlining performance while bands Gangrene Gang and Corners warmed up the Echo with their garage-rock inspired sets. It was a light crowd from the start, but Gangrene Gang and Corners did an impressive job of kicking out the jams nonetheless.

By the time Froth took the stage, the Echo grew warm and started to fill like a puffed pastry. With a slightly unusual instrument lineup featuring an omnichord and 12-string guitar, Froth had the people moving and swaying to their Entrance Band-meets-Brian Jonestown Massacre influenced set. It was a cool psychedelic show experience that brought you back to a time where most fans in the room were far to young to ever experience in its prime. Closing out the night were Mr. Elevator & The Brain Hotel who also kept the psych fire burning hot. If psychedelic rock fused with garage is your flavor, you truly missed out on this show.
