For all you darkwave electro lovers, the Mayan Theatre was a sexy den of dance this past Thursday, as the influential electronic industrial legend, Gary Numan headlined the theatre. Touring in support of his new album release, Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind), featuring the pulsating track “Love Hurt Bleed,” Numan brought out straight hedonism from the Los Angeles crowd. The audience was beyond excited and screaming bloody murder when Numan came out from the darkness. With a spastic and high energy stage performance, Numan was owning the crowd before him and fans just couldn’t get enough of him.

Opening up the evening were Grimy Goods local favorite, Big Black Delta and newbies Roman Remains. As always, Big Black Delta put on a dark and sexy electrifying performance. As the new side project of Liela Moss and Toby Butler (from The Duke Spirit), Roman Remains delivered a provocative mix of industrial goth and synth-driven electro pop. It was a perfect compliment to the synth-fueled and drum heavy rhythms we’ve grown obsessed with from Big Black Delta. The evening’s line-up was a fierce and euphoric evening of darkwave dancing to say the least.
