I’m always down for a proper electronic night and this Thursday at The Echoplex did not disappoint. What started out as a sparse turnout, turned into a full fledged packed house for the Berlin based DJ/Producer, The Field.

Kicking off the night was SONNS. While the Echoplex was still filling up, SONNS set the night off with a mellow-ish DJ set. As his set built, more and more people piled in. Next up was the dynamic husband/wife duo, Peaking Lights. Kind of like an electronic Tom Tom Club, Peaking Lights had the crowd dancing to their dubbed out rhythms. Finally, as the stage filled with fog, The Field took over. While not as rhythmically exciting as Peaking Lights, The Field’s set was a very well-paced, and intricate journey through minimal techno. With this kind of electronic music, it’s all about the subtle details and with the help of a live drummer, The Field was able to execute a near perfect set that had the whole room dancing.
