With dashes of summer still in the air and a perfect evening at the beach, the Twilight Concert Series at Santa Monica Pier has come to an end. If you didn’t attend, trust, you missed out Big Time! Going strong for 30 years, Twilight’s last show of the season was a hot, sweaty, and loving soulful performance from Daptone Records Mr Charles Bradley who came to the stage full of joy and preaching the good love.

The pier was packed with R&B, funk and soul lovers cheering “I love you” entirely reciprocating to Bradley’s songs. With funk beats and sexy moves, Bradley was singing and howling his heart out with songs from his album Victim of Love that evidently manifested throughout the night. He even did The robot! Charles Bradley’s vibe was extremely contagious taking us to church with a sermon that in his own words would tell us to “Never give up on your dreams”.

Straight from New Orleans, opening band King James & The Special Men were the perfect combination to start the night with rhythm and blues that would later turn into one of the most heartfelt performances the Santa Monica Pier experienced this summer.
