This past Friday, The Forum in Inglewood hosted a sold-out night with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Schooling the world on how real legends handle a stage, this was the first night of two back-to-back sold-out performances with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Petty’s presence and performance was outstanding, keeping the crowd engaged at all times. Not to mention, all original members of The Heartbreakers were on stage performing in their iconic glory. Singing classics and new material from the band’s13th studio album Hypnotic Eye, Petty had the spot vibing to good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll for almost two hours straight. If there’s something the young rockers can learn from the veterans, is that the two / three-hour set is a must when it comes to rock ‘n’ roll. With sheer wit and charm the new material came as a wave of freshness, however, constantly pleasing the crowd. The band rocked songs such as “Mary Jane’s Last Dance”, “Free Falling” and had the entire Forum singing along to “Learning to Fly”. Petty’s renowned skills on the guitar shined throughout the night making this show beyond “classic”.
