Bloc Party FYF Fest 2015 photos

Though not the full original lineup, Bloc Party proved Saturday at FYF Fest that they’ve got the same amount of spunk geared towards their live performances as they did when the epic Silent Alarm album first burst onto the scene in 2005.

The scene in the crowd during “Helicopter” was the best kind of shitshow. Bodies were going flying in all directions as singer Kele Okereke shouted into the mic. Back-to-back performances at the Glass House and The Roxy setup their FYF set nicely as I firmly believe they are the type of band that is best experienced in a more open setting, like the Lawn Stage.

“Good evening Fuck Yeah Fest, my name is Frank Ocean,” Okereke kicked off their set by saying. “No — not really.”

Their medley of “Disappear Here” and “Banquet” was one of the set’s numerous highlights and Okereke shouted at the crowd regularly to dance their asses off. The crowd was always quick to oblige and it turned into one of the higher energy sets of the evening.
