Denver synth-poppers Tennis rocked FYF Fest’s Lawn Stage under the bright sun early during Saturday’s action at Exposition Park.
Wife-and-hubby duo Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley and their band were on point during their set that was so affected by the bright sun that Moore apologized for needing her sunglasses.
“I don’t wan’t these. It’s like this barrier between me and you, and I hate it but I can’t see anything,” she said. “Thank for you watching us at the hottest most brightest time of the day.”
One highlight was the song “I’m Callin'” from their most recent album Ritual in Repeat. It’s got that CHRVCHES-meets-Blondie sound and Moore’s vocals shine brightly on the track. Moore told the crowd she was in the mood to dance but didn’t know how, asking the crowd to show her.
Tennis also played a new song that showed there’s much more to come worth checking out in the future from this indie pop band.
