Besides the kids that had camped out at the Main stage all day to see Morrissey, the rest of FYF Fest had a mass exodus from D’Angelo and Death Grips to get to there.

As expected it was crowded but, people were taking up relaxing havens on benches, against walls or kicking back on the sidelines near the pathways. Morrissey was great in the way that he always is because he’s Moz, and he’s a legend in his own right.

In a blue long sleeve button-up undone just enough to show some chest hair, Moz posed and sang and bathed himself in the love his adoring fans always give him. Though this was the first time I was seeing him, and if I am going to be completely honest, I was a bit disappointed in the crowd. Yes, everyone was there, the crowd packed to the gills but they were standing unmoving and seemed like zombies. I thought there would be more excitement, more energy, more ANYTHING. But, I think what was going on is that they were holding on for the hits, the ones that they could sing their hearts out to. So when he did play those Smith and Morrissey songs we all know, the crowd came alive and sang along like they were the ones standing on stage with the mic in their hand. In fact, they were so loud you could hardly hear Morrissey singing and that is what makes Morrissey the legend that he is.
