June 5 — Speedy Ortiz at Echoplex
Massachusetts self-described “illegally loud” rock group Speedy Ortiz are ready to crank up the volume when their tour with indie rockers The Good Life hits town this month. Hear ripe and ready songs such as “Death Note” and “Emma O” off their new Foiled Again EP, due out June 3rd via Carpark Records. Supporting act is Tancred.
June 6 — The Temper Trap at Fonda Theatre
Aussie indie pop group The Temper Trap may be best known for their popular single “Sweet Disposition” which was featured on the 500 Days Of Summer soundtrack but they’re proving that they’re more than just a one hit wonder with fresh cuts such as “Fall Together” and “Burn” from their new album Thick As Thieves available June 10th. June 7 — Bishop Briggs at The Troubadour
UK singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs blends folk, pop and electronic sounds seamlessly together and it’s no surprise that this rising star made a huge splash with her debut single “Wild Horses,” follow up “River” and now her latest “The Way I Do” from her forthcoming debut EP. June 7 & 8 — Chelsea Wolfe at Teragram Ballroom
We’ve seen Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Chelsea Wolfe light up a stage before and there’s no doubt she’ll be doing just that when she headlines Teragram Ballroom this June. Hear tantalizing songs such as “Carrion Flowers” and “After The Fall” from her wondrous, critically acclaimed album Abyss. New Zealand alternative sibling duo A Dead Forest Index supports.
June 8 — Veronica Bianqui with Children at The Hi Hat
We love local artist Veronica Bianqui so much that we premiered her music video for “If Love’s A Gun, I’m Better Off Dead”, did a Hot Artist Alert interview feature on her and sponsored her Harvard & Stone residency. Bianqui recently returned from touring the UK so be sure to catch her single release show (“Ahh, Paris!”) at The Hi Hat. June 8 — Adult Books at The Echo
Los Angeles garage, post-punk band Adult Books have toured alongside acts like Fidlar, Off! and Tijuana Panthers, to name a few. Now they’re ready to party in celebration of their record release for their debut full-length Running From The Blows (Lolipop/Burger Records). Numb.er and Future Shoxxx get the party rolling.
June 8 — Sofi Tukker at The Lyric Theatre
New York’s hottest electronic dance duo Sofi Tukker are making their way to Los Angeles for an intimate night of music at The Lyric Theatre. Groove to hypnotic singles such as “Hey Lion,” “Drinkee,” and “Matadora,” from their forthcoming album Soft Animals due out late July.
June 9 — Islands at Teragram Ballroom
Canadian indie pop/rock group Islands are hitting their stride with the recent release of two crowdfunded albums, Taste and Should I Remain Here At Sea? the sequel to their debut album of a decade prior, Return to the Sea. The band will dive deeply into material old and new, so be sure to catch them this go-around. Honus Honus of Man Man/Mister Heavenly opens.
