Tiger Army Make Fans Swoon and Rock Out at Fonda Theatre Gig

Keeping the rock ‘n’ roll flowing strong through their veins, Tiger Army brought their sweet dose of rock ‘n’ punk to the Fonda Theatre. Touring in support of their new album album, V •••–, the trio rocked the night away with infectious energy and charm. Fans couldn’t get enough of it.

The Reckless Ones opened the sold-out night with a surprising cover of Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” which was awesome to hear with their rockabilly sound layered over it.

Johnny Two Bags played next with a powerful wall of sound coming from his band. With country roots and slide guitar, Johnny Two Bags shared tales of getting too drunk, getting into fights, and waking up broken hearted.

As the headline performance, Tiger Army hit the floor running with their sweet rockabilly serenades. Reaching a whole new level of showmanship, the band wasted no time showing off their polished chops.

New bassist, Djordje Stijepovic, is extremely talented with his standup bass playing. Handling it like a rag doll— Stijepovic effortlessly worked that bass— spinning it around, standing on top of it, and even throwing it in the air. His showmanship revved the crowd up, while Drummer, James Meza held the foundation of the band tightly. Mensa’ been playing with the band since 2004 and never misses a beat. He kept the insanely fast tempo and did an amazing solo at the end of the show. The crowd was thrilled.

With his gleaming and ghostly stare, Nick 13 enamored fans with his engaging stage presence. From lulling serenades to punk rock bravado, Nick 13 performs with a confident sheen; and the ladies can’t seem to get enough of it. The man’s got some serous vocal game.

Together, Tiger Army played their new hits, classics, as well as some covers such as Link Ray’s “Rumble.” Their performance hit the sweet spot, making fans fall in love with rock and roll all over again.
