If you were seeking a dose of feel good, high energy music on a weekday, Bomba Estéreo at the El Rey was the place to be last week. The venue, packed at capacity with fans of the Colombian Grammy nominees, served as a gathering of dancers, lovers and Bomba followers. The vibe was unreal.

The charm and tropical elegance of vocalist Liliana Saumet captivated the crowd from start to finish. Their new sounds are a display of Bomba Estéreo’s growth and their new track “Soy Yo” has served as an anthem of self love. When the moment their hit “Somos Dos” (We Are Two)  came into play, the crowd melted as Saumet dedicated the song to her husband. Although a heavily electronic track, the roots of their sounds could be felt through the “champeta” and strong percussion.
