GIRLSCHOOL Returns with Empowering Female-led Performers and Educational Workshops & Panels

Not to be missed! GIRLSCHOOL returns to the Bootleg Theater for another installment of their all female-fronted music festival. Founded by Anna Bulbrook (Airborne Toxic Event/The Bulls), this year’s GIRLSCHOOL will take place Friday Jan 27 – Sunday Jan 29 and will feature performances by: Chelsea Wolfe, The Bird and the Bee, Francisca Valenzuela (Acoustic), Deap Vally, Bleached (DJ set), The Wild Reeds, The Regrettes, Tamaryn (DJ set), Pearl Charles, Caroline Smith, Winter, Rituals of Mine, Luna Shadows, Starcrawler, vōx, TRACE, Kid Wave, Liphemra, Kona, Soto Voce, Summer Twins and more. Proceeds will benefit the Rock’N’Roll Camp For Girls LA.

Additionally, GIRLSCHOOL will include two afternoons of talks, workshops, and panel discussions led by: Ruidosa, SoundGirls.org, Music for Pictures (Alicen Schneider, NBCUniversal), Madame Gandhi, Women in Media (Andrea Domanick, Noisey), Dannielle Owens-Reid, Radical Aliveness (Jennifer Huang), Ableton Controllerism (Laura “Alluxe” Escudé), and Rock’n’Roll Camp for Girls LA.

Despite it being 2017, women are still underrated in the music industry, and highly underrepresented on music festival bills. GIRLSCHOOL is the perfect way to celebrate and support women in music while educating through carefully curated workshops and panels. This event is all-ages! Bring your kids and give them the confidence to rock out in anything way they desire, girl or boy.

Our experience at last year’s was GIRLSCHOOL was “wildly impressive” and we expect this year to raise the bar and lay down an even more solid foundation for future GIRLSCHOOLS to come.

Tickets to GIRLSCHOOL at the Bootleg Theater are priced at $45 for a three-day pass. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.m. and the show kicks off at 7 p.m.
