If good ole rock ‘n’ roll is your thing, you had to be at The Troubadour this past Tuesday for Bash & Pop. Formed in 1992 by Tommy Stinson after the breakup of legendary band The Replacements, throughout the years Bash & Pop have gone in-and-out of the music scene. Recently the band got together again and is currently on tour bringing that rockers lounge feel that makes heads bob at every show.
Opening band The Yawpers started the night with frenetic sounds as a preamble of the strong performance ahead. Once Bash & Pop was on, with a nostalgic sound and a bit of a sneer to it, Stinson kept energies high during their performance. As hits dropped one after the other, Stinson mentioned that Los Angeles was his home away from home. At the end of the performance one encore was not enough. The band pleased the crowd ending the night with “Friday Night is Killing me” plus an acoustic set that left attendees reminiscing and ears ringing for the rest of the week.
