Supergroup DREAMCAR made their live debut at the Constellation Room in Santa Ana this past Wednesday night, kicking off two sold-out gigs at the intimate OC venue. DREAMCAR is No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont, drummer Adrian Young and AFI frontman Davey Havok. The formation of this supergroup brought all the die hard No Doubt and AFI fans to the Constellation Room. The members of No Doubt took the stage and thanked their beloved fans for attending. Moments after, Davey of AFI walked to the center of the stage in a voguish manner not sporting a ripped studded denim jacket and combat boots, but a pink suit with pink creepers. DREAMCAR finally kicks off their 14-song set of unreleased material that we’ve been anxiously waiting to hear. Right off the bat, the group definitely has an 80’s new wave sound, reminiscent of Flock of Seagulls or Duran Duran, if you will. Davey Havok sang his heart out as usual but with more charisma than ever, and Tony Kanal showed some great stage presence as well slapping bass in his signature power stance. At the end of their set, DREAMCAR played their single “Kill For Candy” (watch the video below) which they performed flawlessly.

If you were at this show, you were lucky to have seen this dream-team in such an intimate venue. Check out the photos below of DREAMCAR at the Constellation Room!
