Future Islands brought the party Tuesday night. The Greek Theatre flooded with eager fans to catch the craze. Once frontman, Samuel Herring took the stage, the night took off and running. With nothing but pure gratitude for playing their largest show on tour, the dancing commenced. Opening with the well-known singalong “Ran” and “A Dream of You and Me,” the stage suddenly became Herring’s own ice rink. Gliding from one side to the other, instantly heads tossed and turned. I think I got whiplash!
The only dance break we got was briefly in between three or four songs when Herring would motivate and inspire the crowd to be kind to one another and appreciate each other.
Once the music started up again, grown men throughout the crowd continued to own their dance moves and jump up and down.
Point blank, you need to get yourself up and to a Future Islands show. From the high kicks to the body rolls, I don’t believe you’d leave disappointed.
