The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood was a packed house for three consecutive nights this past weekend for  none other than The Drums. We caught Friday night’s show and let me just say, it was incredible. Frontman Jonny Pierce never disappoints. The indie-pop crazers brought their latest tour in support of their newest and fourth record, Abysmal Thoughts.

Pierce began his dancing from the top of the show and never truly slowed down. Feeding off the insane energy from the sold-out crowd, The Drums gave a night to remember. We got to hear our favorites, “Best Friend,” “Let’s Go Surfing,” and the new record’s single, “Blood Under My Belt”.

There is without a doubt this distinct positive energy that flows from fan to fan during a Drums show which we could definitely not get enough of in the world today. Pierce made a point in the night to thank the theatre as a whole for representing LA. He couldn’t be more grateful to the city for their outstanding support of who he is as a person and his art expressed beautifully through The Drums. When it came down to it, Pierce wanted to forcefully inspire everyone to be themselves, whomever that may be. Ending the show with an EIGHT song encore, The Drums had us dancing and loving through the night.
