You know it’s going to be a good show when a bunch LA bands are out at the same venue. The Bootleg was packed with familiar faces for the first night of Stonefield’s FREE April residency. Stonefield is made up of four equally capable Australian sisters; Amy (lead vocals, drums), Hanna (guitar), Sarah (keys), and Holly Findlay (bass). Think HAIM, but way more badass.

Sibling harmonies are always strong and the voices on these gals are super powerful and complement their super heavy, progy, proto psych sound perfectly. Their new LP, Far From Earth, will be released on Monday, April 16 and you can already listen to the title track below.

Stonefield’s psych rock feel was enhanced by a beautiful liquid light show by The Mad Alchemist.

Opening for Stonefield were glam rockers Uni with a more mellow show than their Saturday night event at The Lodge Room. Their set’s more low key groove allowed the bands Beatles’ influence to be more easily discerned. The band is produced by founding member Charlotte Kemp Muhl who is romantically and musically linked to Sean Ono Lennon. Front man Nico Fuzz commands attention by fire-literally, and virtuoso guitarist David Strange round out the core of the band.

Also on the bill were The Mad Walls and Grave Flowers Bongo Band. Check out the photos below!
