Angelenos put on their dancing shoes this past Sunday in anticipation for hell they would raise with the Murder City Devils at Teragram Ballroom. After more than 2 decades of inciting marshall law on the dance floor, Murder City Devils haven’t wained in the energy they bring to the stage. They covered their bases and powered through a solid set of classics such as “Left Hand, Right Hand,” “Rum To Whiskey” and “Press Gang.” It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Iggy Pop, so a stand out moment for me was when they performed “Broken Glass,” this song always resonates well with me, however the real reason I was floored was from Moody’s extemporization of the song on this occasion, which was nothing short of perfection and unlike any other time I have seen them perform it. The great thing about seeing the Murder City Devils is, every song tends to be a flawlessly executed banger that keeps the audience engaged and singing. The only major down side to that is that their shows always seem to go by too fast! Even though the band left the stage without an encore, it was clear by the expressions on fans’ faces, that we all got what-the-fuck we came here for.
