A chance meeting led underground LA music scene veterans Modpods to share the stage with icons The Melvins on Friday at legendary music venue The Troubadour. It was a huge opportunity for founder and front woman/beat maker/songwriter Myriad Slits and her bandmates Mindee Jorgensen and Daniel Guzman who take turns playing bass, guitar, and drums. The Modpods are joining The Melvins for a few other west coast tour dates and then heading out for a few on their own. When they return they will be working recording a followup to their 2017 album “No Strut”. You can check them out at Lot 1 during the upcoming local music festival Echo Park Rising which will highlight the best of the local scene August 16-19. Opening the night was experimental electronic music duo Yen Yen.
