English pop princess, Lily Allen graced the Fonda Theatre Monday night. After a four-year hiatus, she is back and better than ever in support of her forth record, No Shame, which just released this June via Parlophone. A very diverse crowd of fans flooded the iconic Fonda to see the awaited performance. Allen has been extremely open with her personal life thus far and prior to the latest music. No Shame is as straightforward as it gets. Lily Allen has practically been at the tip top and very rock bottom of her career which led her to where she is today.
Gracing the stage in a floor-length lime-colored gown with tightly-styled hair curls, the 33-year-old vocalist was practically a real-life fairy princess before us. With a starter track chanting “Lily Allen. Lily Fu*king Allen,” the vibe for the night struck and the heat was brought. Beginning with the opening track off the new record, “Come On Then,” Allen showed absolutely no shame. The song covers just some of the heavy and very confessional themes found throughout the new music.
“Yeah, I’m a bad mother, I’m a bad wife, you saw it on the socials, you read it online.”
Along with an autobiography titled My Thoughts Exactly released just one month ago, Lily Allen has since opened herself up with brutal honesty and looks inside her battles in life. Her music has always stuck out with such a bright, pop sound, where her lyrics also stuck out with their raw truth.

Monday night’s showstopper performance had the packed Fonda Theatre dancing and throwing lyrics back at her while at times teary eyed during the more emotional songs. Lily was quirky as ever and even joked and poked fun at herself a few times for her acquired “Mommy moves” she can’t control. It was beautiful and inspiring to see Allen laugh and smile in pure joy whilst performing despite the struggles she’s faced and of course the ones she’ll continue to face in the future. The crowd continued to laugh and sing along to Allen’s well-known hits “Smile” and “Fu*k You.” It was a rare Monday night spent well, that’s for sure.
