Boy Pablo 2022

With a laid back tone and a cumbia and tropical infused melody, Boy Pablo’s new track “Be Mine” is a dreamy, lovestruck song sung in Spanish and English. From cumbia to doo-wop inspired instrumentals and backing vocals, “Be Mine” flows smoothly, with a lighthearted step and sunny disposition. In addition to his new single and accompanying music video, Boy Pablo will make an appearance at Desert Daze in Perris, CA on Sept. 30.

With Boy Pablo’s sweet words and earnest delivery, “Be Mine” is an invitation to love. Stepping out of the shadows to face his crush, Boy Pablo serenades his future lover with his smooth vocals and playful lyrics that also nod to his cultural and social background (like wanting to make his love taquitos). Knowing they both feel the same way about each other, Boy Pablo is tired of waiting and instead, decides to take fate into his own hands, hoping he will strike a resounding chord in the heart of his beloved.

“I’ve been obsessed with cumbia music for a while now so it became natural for me to try writing something inspired by it,” says Nico Muños aka Boy Pablo. “It was one of those songs that I didn’t expect to write, it just appeared. It’s basically a cheeky way to approach a love interest that you know has a slight interest in you. I feel like it’s a very Latino romantic thing to do.”

His third single of the year, “Be Mine” was recorded just after Boy Pablo wrapped up his Latin American tour and includes percussion recorded in Chile. The fun and summery music video was shot after Boy Pablo’s set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Other singles released this year include “La Novela” featuring Cuco and a cover of The Human League’s ”Don’t You Want Me” featuring Celine Autumn.

In addition to being a love song all his own, Boy Pablo’s new tune takes is right on par with the thoughtful, cheeky music Boy Pablo is known for.
