With a few weeks left in July, Los Angeles is teeming with amazing live music entertainment just waiting to be found, including some of our favorite independent and non-major label / non-mainstream acts. July 22 – Horsegirl at the Echo

Chicago based band Horsegirl, joined by Dummy and Blondshell, comes to the Echo on July 22. With fuzzy, lo-fi garage rock infused with a classic punk attitude, Horsegirl strum up high energy tunes punctuated by singer Nora Cheng’s etherial vocals. They just recently dropped their debut album Versions of Modern Performance earlier this year.

Tickets are priced are $18 + service fees.

July 22 – Mariah the Scientist at The Belasco

Atlanta native singer-songwriter Mariah the Scientist has already been spotlighted in the past for her dynamic stage presence, so you definitely don’t want to miss her at the Belasco on July 22 with Tanerélle as part of her Experimental Tour. Known for her sultry vocals and smooth melodies, Mariah the Scientist released Buckles Laboratories Presents: The Intermission earlier this year, a 4-song EP brimming with aural pleasure.

July 23 & 24 – Yeule at the Echo

Singaporean songwriter and producer Yeule appears for a two-night residency at the Echo on July 23 and 24 with opener Michele Yue. Having dropped Glitch Princess earlier this year, an album that is equal parts visceral as it is etherial and bewitching, Yeule is set to have a stacked setlist for both evenings.

July 23 – Purity Ring at the Wiltern

Canadian electronic pop band Purity Ring are set to play July 23 at the Wiltern with Ekkstacy. Recently the band dropped their latest single, “Nevermind,” a collision between rock and electro pop that shifts and crackles with an eccentric cadence. Their show at the Wiltern will be one of their last few performances for their current 2022 tour dates. Be sure to catch their explosive and enigmatic performance.

Tickets are priced at $36 + service fees for general admission and $110 plus service fees for VIP package tickets.

July 24 — Monsieur Periné

Colombian based Monsieur Periné perform July 24 at The Ford with supporting act Reyna Tropical. Recently, Monsieur Periné released new single “Tu Y Yo,” which will be on appear on their upcoming new album — title and release date yet to be announced. The band is synonymous with a lively stage presence and colorful performances.
